In early April, I accidentally found out from my colleagues that Wfolio had opened registration for a photography competition. The competition is not new, but the Product Photography category has appeared for the first time this year. I thought about it for a while, and decided to post my work out of a sporting interest. I sent these three frames to the competition, and frankly, I was betting on the second frame, because in my understanding it is more technically complex, and they will definitely be able to evaluate it.
I posted it and forgot it. And after some time, I received a message from one of the judges asking for confirmation of the authorship of the work for the reason: Some members of the jury believe that this is an AI, not a photo© I sent a confirmation, but I was puzzled, because I couldn’t figure out my emotions, whether to consider comparing my work with generation as a compliment, or vice versa.
Well. At the Portfolio Awards 2025, everything fell into place — I won first place in the Product Photography category with this photo.
But none of this would have happened without my wonderful team.
